We sang songs while we were sowing.

We sang songs while we baked bread.

We sang songs while we hunted.

We sang songs as we celebrated.

Songs were sung when we were born and when we passed away.

When the day was long and the night was long.

The old songs have been forgotten.

We're writing a new one.

Weljar is a project inspired by Proto-Slavic times and shamanism, born out of a longing for closeness to nature and the primal power it holds. We create melancholic music that blends folk and ambient genres.
